Savannah is proud of its multi-ethnic diversity, and
is
evident throughout the city by the many beautiful
churches, each with
outstanding architecture and history. As an example, pictured on the left,
is the Lutheran Church of the Ascension, founded in 1741. A
monument, shown at right, of Reverend John Wesley who preached in
Savannah in the 1700's.
African-Americans have played a significant role in the
history of Savannah. The legacy is seen throughout the city.
